Asian American Federation Hosts NYC Mayoral Republican Candidates Forum

New York City: The Asian American Federation will host the Republican Mayoral Candidates Forum on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 6 – 8 pm at the Elebash Recital Hall at the CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue. Registration will start at 5:30 pm.

Invited candidates are:

Adolfo Carrión, Jr., Former Bronx Borough President & Former Director, White House Office of Urban Affairs
John Catsimatidis, Chairman & CEO, Red Apple Group
Joseph Lhota, Former Chairman & CEO, Metropolitan Transportation Authority
George T. McDonald, Founder & President, The Doe Fund
The candidates will discuss their plans and visions for the City, focusing on the areas of health and social services, small business, economic and community development, and education. The candidates will also address the growth of City‘s Asian Americans and how they will incorporate our community into their plans for creating a more vibrant city while dispelling the stereotypes that prevent resources and assistance from reaching our communities.

Questions will come from a panel of mainstream and ethnic media journalists and community leaders. Confirmed panelists are:

Luna Liu, World Journal
Ti-Hua Chang, Fox 5 News, will moderate the evening‘s discussions.

After the discussion, audience members will be asked to participate in a straw poll of the candidates.
